As long as the key fob is within a 3 foot range, your vehicle will automatically respond to your touch.
How to Use Chevy’s Proximity Key
As you approach your Chevrolet vehicle, simply press the small button on the door handle. The vehicle will sense that the key fob is nearby and will unlock the doors for you – no need to press the unlock button on your key fob.
Once inside the vehicle with the fob, place your foot on the break and press START/STOP button to fire up the engine. It’s that easy!
When you are ready to leave the vehicle, just press the button on the outside door handle again. The car will lock once the system confirms the key fob is no longer in the vehicle.
Troubleshooting Tips
If the vehicle doesn’t respond, check if the fob’s battery needs replacement. Or make sure you’re within range and not blocked by metal objects or devices that might cause interference. If the key fob is inside a bag with electronics, take them out and try again.
